Dr. Angela Hofmann, D.V.M.
Dr. Angela Hofmann is a mother of four and is a graduate from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine as of 2015. Dr. Hofmann went to college at The University of Kansas and received a B.A. in English and a B.S. in journalism. After moving to San Diego she worked at the Beach and Bay Press for a little bit, but after having her first child, working in a traditional setting wasn’t an option. She found an outlet as the Communications Director at a local rescue group which led to a new role in one of the county shelters as an adoption counselor, eventually leading to a job offer at a veterinary hospital.
She loved that job so much that she pursued a certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Several years later, she got divorced and needed to level up in her job and income, which led her to vet school with the goal of being a practice owner someday. Last year, she achieved that dream. Dr. Hofmann’s next goal is to grow and leverage this practice so she can purchase 2-3 more practices in the next 5 years. She is passionate about providing a positive workplace, as well as a living wage and even an equity stake in hospitals for technicians and managers, not just veterinarians!

Dr. Le was born in Vietnam in 1973. He grew up not knowing my father and was raised by his mother. He met his father in 1979 after he was released from a communist concentration camp. Two years after that, Dr. Le and his family escaped on a boat from Vietnam to a refugee camp in Indonesia. His family settled in the United States one year later, when he was 10 ½ years old. His family was very poor for many years when they first came to America. They survived and thrived after his father got his first job. I graduated from San Gabriel High School and was accepted to UCLA. Dr. Le graduated from there with a B.S. in Biology. After struggling to get in to medical school, Dr. Le went to dental school at UCSF. After over one year there, he realized he would not be satisfied practicing dentistry; Dr. Le applied to osteopathic medical school. I got in and dropped out of dental school the very next day.
He graduated from the Kirksville college of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Le graduated in 2003 and was accepted to residency in Emergency Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. After working in several different ERs, he is now working at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California. His wife is a physician at UCSD and Rady Children’s hospital in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation. We have two sons, ages 11 and 13. Now, he enjoys taking care of patients in the ER and spending time with my family traveling, skiing, and surfing. Dr. Le also participates in endurance sports activities for fitness including running half marathons, marathons and half Iron Mans. |
